A Daily Success Practice: Start Your Day with Gratitude and Focus
I begin my day with a sense of gratitude and by reflecting on the blessings in my life. The morning thought is the most powerful and can set the tone for the decisions I make throughout the day. The level of creativity, the quality of solutions, and achievements can be much better when I start the day with gratitude.
In general, our thinking reflects two major mindsets: a competitive mindset and a creative one.
Both stem from how we relate to resources: resources are finite or infinite. If there is an unconscious belief within you that the universe is finite, then you will perceive life as a competition for more. It’s as if my gain would lead to your loss. Well, I don’t buy into this kind of thinking.
My choice is to believe that there is room for everyone in this world. We have enough resources and enough ideas to live well, to live fulfilled, we just use our resources and available knowledge very unproductively and unintelligently. It’s my belief and mine alone.
So, I don’t favor the competitive mindset, and I choose the creative one.
