There is a beautiful side of life. There are also less pleasant parts, beyond this beautiful side of life. We all have a shadow side.

Parts that we try with all our being to hide.

Connection with others will never come if we desperately fight to show only in a certain way, less in the way we actually are in this moment.

Because you can’t put the lid on just part of the pot. You can’t put the lid on just certain vegetables boiling in your pot.

Being vulnerable may seem scary. It was for me. I didn’t yet know how to manage my emotions and I quickly fell into a victim state. I practically got into the hamster wheel. It took a long time to recognize that I was in a toxic state, and even longer to learn how to get out of that state. After that, I managed to find the way out more quickly. Then, more and more often, I didn’t enter that toxic state anymore.

Is it difficult to live a life where no one knows you exactly as you are? Narcissists live such a life.

But think about it, wouldn’t it be more frightening to live a life where no one knows you exactly as you are? A life where you play certain roles to please others or to maintain a certain image of yourself.
