I always want to understand who the person in front of me is. So, I have a method. It works for me. In three years, I might have a different approach. Because what matters is what works, not the theory.

The Legend of the Famous Healer

In my country, there is a legend about a famous doctor, an extraordinary healer known for his successes. Few people know that he had his office at the end of a long hallway. By the time the patient walked the entire hall from his door, he already had a pretty good idea of the diagnosis and knew what information needed to be confirmed or denied.

Lesson Learned:

There must be a method to make the coaching approach as effective as possible. Somehow, the person seeking a solution through coaching wants to obtain it.

The Challenge in Coaching

The challenge is that they’re not always clear on what they want to achieve. You can tell this from the way they express themselves when describing their challenges. Then, I need to speak their language. It’s not about English or French; it’s about the language…
