I have some sad news for you. Do you know those butterflies in your stomach that appear when you’re in love?

Why does your stomach flutter when you like someone? First of all, it’s about the release in the brain of a chemical called dopamine, the chemical that makes us feel good. Dopamine helps us feel happy during pleasurable activities, such as flirting or sex. The rise in norepinephrine in the brain also adds to the feeling of butterflies.

Those butterflies don’t always mean love. They can come from frustration. When you have feelings for someone, you might start feeling attracted to them. This can make you feel excited and nervous because your desire for them is not satisfied right away.

Butterflies and Frustration

When of butterflies are in the stomach, we usually connect them with love and excitement. Something other than deep love can trigger that sensation. There is a high probability that there are roots in frustration and sexual desire.

Butterflies are often felt when we have strong desires and are very attracted to someone. Because that desire cannot be immediately fulfilled, the butterflies make their appearance. People can confuse the experience with true love.
