Embracing Valuable Life Lessons: Reflect on Power of Mistakes
Understanding how our errors shape our journey and build resilience
There are moments when we feel directionless. We don’t know what to do, and we realize that a state of confusion has set in. It’s difficult to admit that we have doubts.
Thinking that if we had acted differently, things would have taken a different direction is uncomfortable and intrusive. What if we had made different decisions? What if we had chosen a different path in life?
Such thoughts are useless and tend to lead to a victim mentality. This is how the toxic triangle of emotions (Karpman) begins.
In reality, we can’t change anything that has happened to us. We realize that a life journey — be it private or professional — cannot and should not be devoid of risks or erroneous decisions. This is how we have evolved since the Stone Age.
Only those who don’t work don’t make mistakes.
No matter how good, cautious, or demanding we are in our decision-making process, it’s clear that we will make mistakes.
