From Keystone to Leader: Balancing in Management
With two decades of experience in the managerial world, I have become aware of the importance of personal vision in an organization. Personal vision is akin to a keystone.
Keystone
A “keystone” is a strategically placed stone at the top of an arch or architectural vault. The main function of the keystone is to support the entire architectural system, distribute the weight, and ensure the stability of the construction. By being positioned in a key location, the keystone significantly contributes to the cohesion and resistance of the ensemble, providing it with solidity and structural integrity. Figuratively, the expression “keystone” is often used to describe an essential component or a key person in a system or organization, without which the whole ensemble would be less stable or efficient.
Just as a keystone ensures the stability and cohesion of a construction, it has become evident that in the business world, it is crucial to make a distinctive contribution, to be indispensable through creativity, innovation, and the impact brought to the organization.
