Productivity in the Digital Age: Navigating Distractions and Maximizing Efficiency
Do you realize how important the ability to control your attention is? We live in an era where specialists are paid, money is invested, and all sorts of experiments are conducted to get more of your attention!
Indeed, some of us are frightened to be left alone with their thoughts! They are so scared that they prefer to numb themselves with anything that delivers a cheap dopamine fix. Okay, this statement is valid for a certain percentage of the inhabitants of our planet.
There are situations where the ability to shift your attention is a valuable quality. For example, you wouldn’t want someone deeply lost in their thoughts and unable to hear the subtle sounds of a big carnivore craving fresh meat to guard you! I’m sure in the Paleolithic era, it was a valuable quality not to be devoured by a large, hairy, hungry predator! So, vigilance has its purpose for certain activities.
Years have passed, and we’re no longer in the Stone Age. We’ve entered the digital age. At least some of us have. And success in this era is determined by the ability to focus on achieving a specific goal.
A big goal is usually made up of smaller objectives. Remember when I mentioned having an elephant eat piece by piece?
