Rebuild Your Relationship with Yourself
The relationship you have with yourself reflects in your life. This is my belief and mine alone.
In conclusion, the time invested and the attention given to a healthy relationship with oneself becomes important.
As I see it, this involves practicing self-care, compassion, gratitude, mindfulness, and intentionality toward oneself.
Enough individuals may have reached the point of neglecting or even harming their relationship with themselves. It seems they have reached the point where they harbor true self-hatred or struggle to be alone with their thoughts and feelings.
The good news is that regardless of past damage or negative perceptions about oneself, it is never too late to begin rebuilding this relationship. Ultimately, nothing is permanent.
Speaking of cultivating compassion towards oneself, I must admit that the idea may seem daunting, especially if there is a history of self-neglect or criticism, which has lasted longer or shorter. The idea is that it is always possible to heal and improve the relationship with oneself.
Practically, it’s not a big secret: all the principles underlying healthy relationships with others can be applied to the relationship with oneself.
