This Is Why You Should Start Journaling Now
Find Balance and Inspiration in Journaling
The hardest part about writing in a journal is starting. A journal is something intimate and personal. It doesn’t even matter to write the date, day, and time in the corner to jot something down.
Rules for Writing a Journal
Sometimes it’s hard not to have rules. The reality is there are no rules about what a journal should look like. The date is something useful to note because after years, when you browse through it, you’ll want to know when you had those ideas.
I like to browse through my completed journals from over the years. I find ideas, beliefs, and approaches that I forget about while being preoccupied with the imperatives of the present.
Sometimes it’s about old beliefs, reminding me how convinced I was when I had them. Some of them turned out to be false. They were a consequence of the stories in my mind.
E.B. White once said, “Writing is an act of faith, not a trick of grammar.”
