Fear is an absolutely normal emotion. It’s natural, just like joy, surprise, or anger. Admittedly, it’s uncomfortable.
Fear is one of the six universal emotions. The others are joy, sadness, anger, surprise, and disgust.
We’re more likely to repress it when we treat it as undesirable.
Naturally, we’re born with two fears: the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises.
The rest of our fears are learned. Separation anxiety is one of the first. That’s why we need different rituals when we part ways, even if only for a moment. Remember, these are things we’ve learned since we were newborns.
